existing .buildinfo marker before starting the build, then write the new mode
only after the build succeeds. Ensure a failed full build cannot leave a

Fixed in 831349b. Before a full build starts, the previous deeplake-pg mode entry is removed from .buildinfo while preserving unrelated component and metadata entries. A successful build still records the requested mode only after installation completes. Actual-script tests with external download/build commands mocked reproduce the stale-mode behavior and cover failures during download, configuration, compilation and installation. Each full-build failure leaves no reusable mode; successful full/incremental builds record the mode, and an incremental failure preserves the previously successful mode. Working-directory restoration and unrelated metadata preservation also pass. No native extension build was executed. git diff --check passed. |

Verified: write_mode(mode) in finally records a failed full build as ready for incremental use. Moving it after the try block is correct.
Move the
.buildinfomode update out offinally. Failed downloads, configuration, builds, or installation no longer mark an unsuccessful full build as ready for incremental use. The working directory is still restored byfinally.\n\nValidation: source inspection andgit diff --check; no tests or builds were run.Summary by CodeRabbit
