## Reporting a Vulnerability

If you believe you have found a security vulnerability in Openfire, please report it privately by email to [security@igniterealtime.org](mailto:security@igniterealtime.org).

Please do not disclose security issues through public channels, such as GitHub issues, pull requests, the community forums or chat rooms, until the issue has been addressed.

Document the supported Openfire versions.

The policy asks reporters to provide the affected version, but it does not state which versions receive security fixes. Add a supported-versions section or table and keep it current. GitHub's security-policy guidance calls for supported-version information in SECURITY.md. (docs.github.com)

Review comment at @SECURITY.md at line 11:
Add a supported-versions section or table to SECURITY.md that clearly identifies
which Openfire versions receive security fixes. Keep the listed support status
current without inferring or inventing version information.

After applying the fix, consider running `coderabbit review --agent` for local
review. Visit https://docs.coderabbit.ai/cli?utm_source=ghpr
