MyVibeOS
MyVibeOS is a teaching-oriented RISC-V monolithic kernel project targeting
QEMU `riscv64 virt` with the boot flow fixed as `OpenSBI -> S-mode kernel`.
The OS is developed by using GPT-5.4, the prompts used on building this OS
can be found in prompts/. The prompts are written in Chinese, you can translate
them into any language at ease by using AI.
About Token consumption: 4~5 5-hour token quota using codex.
Stage 1 goals:
- boot a minimal S-mode kernel through OpenSBI
- route console input/output, shell I/O, logs, and panic output through SBI
- enter a tiny kernel shell automatically after boot
- support `help`, `dmesg`, and `halt`
Project layout:
- `kernel/` kernel code
- `user/` reserved for user code
- `libs/` reserved for user-space libraries
- `build/` generated build artifacts
- `utils/` shared helpers
- `host-tools/` host-side helper scripts
Key commands:
- `make` build `build/MyVibeOS.elf`
- `make run` build and run on QEMU with OpenSBI
- `make cscope` generate cscope files if available, otherwise ctags tags
- `make clean` remove `build/` and generated tag files
Notes:
- The current kernel intentionally avoids direct UART/MMIO access.
- Console support relies on the OpenSBI-provided SBI console calls.
