Fixes #2310.

  • stack rm now calls authenticateProvider before RemoveStack unless --force is set. A missing credential gives an error that points to --force.
  • ByocScaleway.CdList returns "not authenticated" instead of panicking when the S3 client is nil.
  • Regression test: TestCdListRequiresAuth.

Testing: scaleway package tests pass. TestVersion/live in cmd/cli/command fails in this sandbox (connection refused to a local test server); unrelated to this change. Other providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) not checked.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Stack removal now checks provider authentication before proceeding. If authentication fails, removal stops and provides guidance on using --force to skip the check.
    • Listing Scaleway stacks now returns an authentication error when the provider is not authenticated.

Walkthrough

Stack removal now authenticates the provider before checking for active deployments unless --force is set. Scaleway CdList returns an authentication error when its S3 client is uninitialized, and a regression test covers that case.

The removal command authenticates the provider unless --force is set. Scaleway CdList returns an authentication error when its S3 client is nil. A test verifies the error.

Explanation

Issue #2310 requires authentication or an actionable error before active-deployment checks, preservation of protection, and a regression test. makeStackRemoveCmd calls authenticateProvider before cli.RemoveStack when force is false. Authentication errors identify --force. The force path still calls RemoveStack with the existing force value. ByocScaleway.CdList returns not authenticated; call Authenticate first when s3Client is nil, and TestCdListRequiresAuth covers that case.

Add a command-level test for the non-force authentication gate in stack rm.

The gate at src/cmd/cli/command/stack.go:219-224 has no test. No test covers the --force bypass or the error text that points users to --force. Removing the authenticateProvider call, or inverting the force condition, leaves the existing tests passing.

The existing tests cover the pieces separately. TestCdListRequiresAuth checks the Scaleway nil-client error from CdList. The authenticateProvider tests check flag propagation and error wrapping. TestRemoveStack calls RemoveStack directly with force set to false. None of them runs makeStackRemoveCmd through the force decision. The repository testing guidance requires tests for new behavior and important failure modes.
