Some options missing

Hello,
Not sure if i am just missing it. Can you compare options, especially features as shown in PVE under options section is missing in Proxcenter or is it in a different spot? I had a need to enable nesting today and could not find it in proxcenter. Had to go to the lxc on pve to change it.. also anything else that is missing if you can please matchup to what's in pve and add anything that's missing. Thank you

Hi Michael, thanks for the detailed report and the screenshots.

We are going to add these options to ProxCenter. Planned work:

• Add a proper Features editor for existing LXC containers (nesting, keyctl, fuse, mount), so you can toggle nesting after creation without leaving ProxCenter.
• Clean up the container Options view so containers no longer show VM-only settings that do not apply to them.

For fuller parity with the PVE Options tab, we will also look at the remaining container-specific settings (architecture, console mode, TTY count, /dev/console, hookscript, and a real start/shutdown order instead of the current simple boolean).

I will update this thread once it ships. Thanks again for flagging this.

Another one i believe is missing. You can't rename a container.. On the PVE host it is located under DNS section of the LXC which works fine to rename a container.

This works fine. In Proxcenter, only place i can possibly see a place to edit the name is under Options > Name > Edit - but if you try to edit it, you cannot do it.

This is the error you get when entering a new name.. So technically maybe its not missing, this part just doesnt work.

Thanks for the follow-up, and good catch. This one is actually a bug rather than a missing option.

In PVE a container has no name property; its display name is the hostname, which is exactly the field you edit under the DNS section. In ProxCenter the Name field currently writes the VM name property regardless of guest type, so for a container the value is rejected on save (and the field shows up empty). We will fix it so the Name field targets the container hostname for LXC, so renaming works directly from ProxCenter.

I have added this to the tracking issue (#566), alongside the container Options cleanup. I will update this thread once it ships.
